Sports Fest 2026 Celebrates Success in Coventry

Sports Fest 2026 has been hailed a success after five days of free activities showcased the strength of Coventry’s sporting and community networks and encouraged more people to get active.

Residents and visitors of all ages and abilities who attended Sports Fest enjoyed singing and dance performances, as well as the opportunity to try 21 different activities, including badminton, bowls, skateboarding, cycling and many more, with something on offer for everyone.

Activities and information stalls were delivered by Coventry City Council in partnership with groups like Go CV, Sky Blues in the Community, CV Life, Positive Youth Foundation, Warwickshire Cricket Foundation, Bowls Development Alliance and many others.

Councillor Kamran Caan, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Sport, said:

This year’s Sports Fest was fantastic, it was great to see Broadgate full of people from the city’s different communities who took part and enjoyed the wide range of activities on offer.

“We’re incredibly proud to host free events of this quality for our residents. Not only is the event filled with brilliant activities for families to enjoy, but it also does the important job of promoting physical activity and wellbeing in one accessible programme.

“I would like to thank everyone involved in delivering the event and helping to inspire people of all ages and abilities to lead healthier, more active lives supporting our ambition around being a City of Movement.

Sports Fest 2026 was a part of the Council’s Big Summer Takeover which saw free family events taking place across weekends in August.
